MARTIN
Personal Trainer
Martin is a former combat medic in the U.S. Army Reserves which pushed him to pursue medicine and physical therapy originally. In his early years, Martin was a multi-sport athlete who transitioned to powerlifting in college. He became an elite level lifter competing at the national level and held the open class (all age group) national deadlift record for the United States Powerlifting Federation. Training has and continues to facilitate his growth physically, mentally, and spiritually, which has contributed greatly to the recognition of fitness as his true passion. Now further along in his career with more experience under his belt, Martin is focusing on human performance to assist others to fulfill their greatest potential and tap into their inherent strength as he once did for himself.
Martin believes that exercise is medicine. Understanding what is being “treated” along with the multitude of factors impacting an individual’s mental and physical well-being should dictate the fitness plan. Keeping these goals in mind will guide the appropriate exercises and dosages to elicit the desired outcomes. From rehabilitation, to general training, to sport specific performance, exercise is all on the same movement continuum. Martin believes in a multi-faceted, evidence based approach— combining tools from across the spectrum in addition to collaborating with other health/fitness specialists to deliver the best possible product for clients.
